Climbing Wetterhorn Peak - Colorado 14ers

The day started with waiting out a thunderstorm at 7am right around tree line. We waited close to 45 minutes for an opening. Scary clouds and distant thunder eventually turned into a crystal clear blue sky! At the summit we were watching a storm get closer to us, so we couldn’t spend much time up there. By the time we were off the saddle and back into the valley, insane lightning, thunder, and hail began dropping on us.
Walking right around tree line. The sun just came out and clouds were quickly moving past us.

Solid class 3 climbing. Nothing difficult and it went very quick round trip saddle to summit.
Helmets were back on below treeline. The hail, lightning and thunder were crazy.
